Apsley has undergone a major transformation following the regeneration programme conceived and implemented by the Conservative led Borough Council. Unfortunately, not all of it has been positive because our Borough has been forced by the 3 main political parties to build more homes than we would wish. On the positive side, we have seen the building of a new doctors surgery and health centre, incorporating a modern dispensing pharmacy; a hotel; a modern and aesthetic construction of a marina, with the pleasing mix of home and commercial properties; major improvements to the main junctions with London Road; and the transformation of unused brown field sites into private homes for sale, as well as social housing. Your Apsley and Corner Hall Team oppose the construction of any more Flats in Apsley and will continue to fight against turning Apsley into a concrete jungle. Some very good news is that your Corner Hall Councillors have won a battle with the Council regarding multi storey buildings. In future the Council will no longer allow any developer to build more than 6 storeys. Hooray! No more monstrosities like the 16 storey Beacon development adjacent to Aldi. The battle goes on.
