The next Conservative government will deliver a major tax cut for pubs, cafés and high street shops, backing the local businesses that are at the heart of Hemel Hempstead.
From our local pubs to the independent shops and cafés across Marlowes, the Old Town and our neighbourhood shopping centres, these businesses give Hemel its character. They provide local jobs, support families and keep our town vibrant. Yet many are under real pressure from rising costs and high taxes.
That is why we will completely scrap business rates for pubs and high street shops. This will save many small businesses in Hemel thousands of pounds every year, money that can be reinvested into hiring staff, improving premises and serving local customers.
While Labour continue to push policies that increase the tax burden, we are focused on practical, real-world support for local businesses. We believe that when Hemel’s shops and pubs succeed, our whole community benefits.
Our plan will protect jobs, support independent traders and help bring renewed life to Hemel Hempstead’s high streets. And because we are committed to responsible public spending, we can deliver these tax cuts in a credible and sustainable way.
We are proud to stand up for Hemel’s local businesses, and the next Conservative government will deliver the tax cuts they need to thrive.
If you want to see Hemel Hempstead’s high streets thrive, local pubs protected and small businesses backed, support the Conservatives. Join our local campaign, help us spread the message, and stand with us as we work to deliver a stronger future for Hemel.
