Hemel's Conservative Councillors are calling on residents to get involved and make their voices heard by attending local surgeries and community engagement meetings held regularly across the town.
These sessions give residents the chance to meet their Councillors face-to-face, raise local issues, and share ideas about how to improve their neighbourhoods, from housing and community safety to anti-social behaviour and fly-tipping.
Earlier today, Councillor Heather Pound held her latest surgery at Gadebridge Café, where she met with residents to discuss a wide range of local matters, including housing concerns, anti-social behaviour, and reports of fly-tipping.
“We’re here to listen and to act,” said Councillor Pound. “Our Coffee and Councillor Surgeries are about being accessible and approachable, giving residents the chance to talk directly with us about what’s going on in their community and how we can help.”
Why Attend a Councillor Surgery?
Councillor surgeries are informal, drop-in sessions open to everyone in the community. Whether you have a concern about your street, an idea to improve local facilities, or simply want to learn more about what’s happening in your ward, these sessions are the perfect place to start.
- Raise concerns about local issues such as housing, litter, parking, or planning.
- Get updates on council initiatives, community projects, and improvements.
- Share your views and help shape the future of your neighbourhood.
- Meet your Conservative Councillors in person and find out how they can support you.
Bringing the Community Together
Hemel’s Conservative Councillors also attend wider community engagement meetings alongside local groups, residents’ associations, and police representatives, ensuring that issues raised by residents are followed up and acted upon.
“We’ve seen how valuable these conversations can be,” added Councillor Pound. “When residents, Councillors, and community partners work together, we can make real progress, tackling issues, supporting local initiatives, and improving our shared spaces.”
