Councillors Belinda Williams and Colette Wyatt-Lowe are leading the way when it comes to keeping our streets, parks, and green spaces tidy. They regularly coordinate community litter picks across their division and throughout the wider town, working hand-in-hand with local volunteers to tackle litter hotspots and keep Hemel Hempstead looking its best.
These litter picks aren’t just about cleaning up, they’re about building community spirit and showing that when we all take responsibility, real change happens. One great way to get involved is by becoming a Dacorum Street Champion. This initiative supports individuals who want to make a difference on their own streets or in their neighbourhoods. Street Champions are given the tools and support they need, including litter pickers, bags, and gloves, to carry out small clean-ups in their own time. It’s a flexible and empowering way to contribute to your local area.
