Members of Hemel Conservatives were joined this evening by friends and colleagues from across Hertfordshire for a highly successful “An Evening With” event featuring the Rt Hon Lord John Redwood.
Held in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the evening brought together party members from across the county for an opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and hear from one of the Conservative Party’s most respected and experienced voices. Guests enjoyed a selection of drinks and canapés as conversations flowed ahead of the main event, an insightful and motivating keynote speech from one of the big beasts of the Conservative Party.
Lord Redwood delivered a compelling keynote speech, offering insights drawn from his extensive career in Government, Parliament, and economic policy. Covering both national and international issues, his remarks sparked thoughtful discussion and provided attendees with a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the country today.
The speech was followed by an engaging Q&A session, where members had the chance to put forward questions on a wide range of topics. Lord Redwood responded with clarity and candour, creating a lively and interactive exchange that was appreciated by all in attendance.
This event was firmly in line with Hemel Conservatives’ vision for the future: not to dwell on past glories, but to look ahead with purpose and determination. By bringing members together in this way, the association continues to focus on building a strong, united team and developing the policies needed to win once again.
Speaking after the event, Hemel Conservatives Chairman Graeme Elliot said, “Tonight was exactly what Hemel Conservatives is all about, bringing people together, sharing ideas, and focusing on the future. We are determined not to look backwards, but to build a strong team and a clear set of policies that will allow us to win again. Events like this show the energy and commitment we have across Hemel and Hertfordshire".
The evening highlighted the strength and unity of Conservative associations across Hertfordshire, reinforcing the importance of collaboration, forward-thinking, and shared ambition. It also provided an excellent opportunity for newer members to engage more closely with the wider membership of the association.
Deputy Chair Louise McKay-Gross added, “We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Lord Redwood for giving his time and sharing his expertise, as well as to everyone who attended and contributed to making the evening such a success.”
Deputy Chair Mark Bignell closed with, "We hope to run events like this on a regular basis, providing valuable opportunities for members of the Association, along with our friends from neighbouring associations, to come together, share ideas, and continue building a strong and united Conservative network across Hertfordshire".
We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future as we continue to build momentum across Hemel Hempstead and beyond.
