One Year of Labour: Broken Britain, Courtesy of Kier Starmer and David Taylor
Labour promised “change.” What they delivered was chaos. One year into Keir Starmer’s government, Britain is worse off, and residents across Hemel are paying the price.
You’re Working Harder. They’re Taking More.
In just twelve months, Labour has hammered families with tax hikes, gutted pensions, and sent household bills soaring. From stealth taxes on savings to council tax rises hitting every doorstep, Labour’s war on the middle class is well underway.
Their message to working people? You earn it. They spend it.
Crime’s Up. Accountability’s Down.
Labour talked tough on crime. But after a year in charge, anti-social behaviour is surging, police numbers are stalling, and confidence in local safety is slipping. Knife crime and youth violence are being swept under the rug, while victims are ignored and criminals pop champagne as they are released onto our streets early.
Labour governs by press release. We need leadership, not photo ops.
Promises Made. Promises Burned.
From saving us all money on our energy bills to housing, Labour’s broken promises keep piling up. “Great British Energy”? Still a fantasy. Net zero plans? Watered down, confused, and dumped on local councils like ours to clean up the mess.
Worst of all, Labour is bulldozing local voices. Planning rules now come from Whitehall diktats, not from residents. Hemel is being reshaped by a government that couldn’t find it on a map yet are imposing thousands of new houses on our green belt land.
This is a Government that has lost the plot!
Starmer’s team is all slogans, no solutions. They inherited a growing economy and managed to choke it. Small businesses are being strangled by red tape. Public services are stretched to breaking point. And their only idea? Spend more. Tax more. Blame everyone else.
Labour is not just out of touch, they’re out of control.
Hemel deserves better. You deserve better!
We won’t stay silent while this government wrecks what local people have built. Hemel Conservatives are fighting back, holding Labour to account and standing up for residents, businesses, and families across our town.
One year of Labour has been more than enough. Hemel Hempstead deserves leadership that delivers, not just slogans, spin and endless facebook posts!
